A College-Level Curriculum


LSMSA offers a true college-style academic experience.

  • Courses are taught on a semester schedule, like a university
  • All classes are college-level and use college textbooks
  • Students may earn up to 74 hours of college credit through agreements with Louisiana universities and Oglethorpe University (Atlanta, GA)

At other colleges, LSMSA students often place out of introductory courses, allowing them to advance more quickly.

A Broad and Flexible Curriculum

Students receive a strong academic foundation while also exploring specialized interests. For example:

Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) is the preeminent state-supported residential high school with competitive admissions for Louisiana's high-achieving, highly-motivated sophomores, juniors, and seniors. As a public school, there is no tuition to attend, and assistance from the LSMSA Foundation ensures the program is available to all qualifying students regardless of family financial need.
